Ewelina & Tomek outdoor wedding photoshoot

The formula for a good outdoor wedding photography is quite simply. You need to know the craft, understand the lighting, choose a good location and obviously have a lovely, willing (to sacrifice:)) couple.
Recently Tom and I had a great time photographing Ewelina and Tomek’s wedding day. They got married in the Polish Church of Devine Mercy in Manchester. We have chosen the lovely Prestwich Clough and Drinkwater Park in Prestwich for the outdoor photo session. I’m familiar with this location as this is my favourite spot for a walk. It’s amazing what weather can bring into the mix when comes to photography. We had a sunshine bursting through the leaves, heavy clouds, rain, autumn colours started to appear and finally more rain and sunshine again.
Ewelina and Tomek were great, funny and cooperative. We kept going and had a great time despite changing weather conditions. Wishing you all the happiness and have a wonderful life ahead.

Corrina & Tom Wedding - sneak peek.

I’m excited to share few photos from Corrina and Tom’s Wedding. The ceremony was held in Stockport Registry Office. After the ceremony we went to Fletcher Moss Park for a photo session. It was a pure pleasure to work with Corrina & Tom and here are some of my favourite photos. More to come :).

Emma & Carl's wedding sneak peek

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Emma & Carl's wedding. It was a perfect day, beautiful wedding and happy people.

I had a pleasure to witness and capture those unforgettable moments. I would like to wish Emma & Carl a wonderful life together.

Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day. It was a great fun working with you, your family and friends.

Also a big thanks to Hollin Hall Hotel and its lovely staff for the cooperation on the day.

Sommelier of the Year

Recently we had an opportunity to cover Sommelier of the Year, a regional heat event in Manchester. It was the first occasion of its kind that I personally had a chance to work on as a photographer.
The purpose of this event was to find a knowledgeable wine professional who specialized in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing. Our client was the caterer from London who requested that we provide photographic coverage in a location already familiar to me, the Malmaison Hotel in Manchester.
The main sponsor of the event was Moet & Chandon Champagne. From a shortlist of ten participants, three Sommeliers of the Wine stewards had reached the final round. I personally enjoyed the final test, the infamous perfect Champagne pour, in which Moet & Chandon Champagne is poured equally into eight glasses, without returning to any of them.

It was an interesting event to be able to look at through the lens of the camera. Besides the photography aspect, I've also learned one or two things about wine etiquette.

Karolina & Steven Wedding day

It was one of the smallest but also very spontaneous weddings we had chance been part of. Karolina and Seven got married in Town Hall registrars office. Shortly after the ceremony, we had (only) 30 min for wedding session around library and Town Hall area. Beautiful architecture help us to capture some moments between newly married and full of love couple. After a short walk, we all headed off for dinner followed by a party in one of the local pubs.

London's Christmas Lights

On Sunday 15 November, the inauguration of new Christmas lights took place on the iconic Regent Street in London. This is the first edition of the Timeless Elegance art installation designed by ATC Lighting Design on the streets in the British capital.

The Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nicholas Dodd, played a musical piece by Pierre Mussche from Musicom, composed specially for this occasion. Grand opening was followed by a party held at Lights of Soho gallery.  Clearly, this event was all about the lights!Read more

Better Bathrooms Christmas Party

This was my second year photographing Better Bathrooms's annual Awards and Christmas Party event. Exactly as last year, the entertainment this year was simply amazing. The event was held at Mercury Plaza Hotel in Machester and it was hosted by Jon Culshaw. This year's party was Gatsby themed and attention to details was astonishing. Read more

Everyone needs a headshot

The headshot is a specific type of portrait that clearly demonstrates a person's appearance with the aim of capturing their personality. They are typically used by models and actors but modern businesses often make use of this type of photography to represent their leaders and employees on various branding platforms. The rise of social media means that more and more people are using them to engage with a wider audience and can be the key to successful self-promotion.

The pictures below were shot outdoors instead of a traditional studio setup. The aim was to give those headshots more energy and a cinematic look. By using a lens with a long focal length, I managed to throw the background out of focus and this also helped to render the facial features more accurately without any distortion that can typically appear when using a wider lens. Also the autumn colors prevalent at this time of the year created a great backdrop and added a specific mood to these shots.

Katarina & Pavel

It was one of those warm and sunny autumn evenings at one of my favorite locations for outdoor photoshoot. Heaton Park is one of the most photogenic places I know of in close proximity to Manchester. Going there with very enthusiastic and full of love couple will guarantee that you will fill your camera memory card with plenty of images. If possible, arrange the session around golden hour, this will maximize your chance of success and the couple will love the photographs.

Summer portraits - Portugal

For me, the favorite part of the year is when it is time to start packing your bags and prepare for your holidays. The destination this year was the beautiful Algarve region in Portugal. This hilly landscape that consists of beautiful sandy beaches set against the rocky cliffs is a great location to go and enjoy the local wine and grilled seafood… not necessarily in that order. Being on the road, it was a good time to put mine and Natan’s compositional skills to the test, giving us great opportunities to practice viewing the world through the lens in order to capture our subject in the best possible light. Having two beautiful models with us made that task more enjoyable and we all had some fun. Here are the fruits of our efforts as we toured this amazing part of Portugal.
